EMERGENCY SERVICES were last night forced to prevent a cattle stampede onto a busy motorway in Perthshire. The unusual operation saw three appliances from Tayside Fire and Rescue, four police units, an ambulance, a veterinarian and two recovery units converge on the M90, one mile south of Bridge of Earn.

Ferocious Fire Tears Through Farm

THERE WAS drama last night after flames tore through buildings at a Perthshire farm. Fire appliances from all over Tayside and Fife rushed to the scene at Jamesfield Farm, near Abernethy, at around 8pm following reports of a significant blaze.

 

Vehicles Destroyed in Truck Yard Blaze

Vandals left a trail of devastation and an estimated bill of more than £120,000 after torching six vehicles at a Dundee truck yard today (writes Graham Huband). Five Mercedes sprinter vans and a 7.5 tonne MAN truck were destroyed in the 2am blaze at the premises of Norscot Truck and Van Ltd in Gourdie Industrial Estate.

Disabled Man Rescued From Fire By His Brother

A DISABLED Dundee man was rescued from a fire at his Lochee flat after summoning his brother by mobile phone. Wheelchair user Kenny Convery (47) fell asleep in the early hours of yesterday after a day watching football—forgetting that he had begun to cook bacon and eggs in his frying pan.
