| Couple Lucky to Escape Toxic Smoke in Blaze

A DUNDEE couple were “extremely lucky to have survived” after their Lochee home was swamped by toxic smoke following a blaze, a senior fire officer said yesterday.
Paul Markie and his wife Jacqueline were rushed to hospital when the fire broke out in the bedroom of their two-storey semi-detached home in Eastwell Road just after 7.30pm on Saturday.

A 42-year-old man had to be cut free from his car by firefighters today following a collision in Fintry in Dundee (write Graeme Strachan and Jennifer Cosgrove).
The man’s 19-year-old daughter also received minor injuries as a result of the incident, which occurred at the junction of Fintry Road and Finella Terrace just after 11 am.
