GROUP MANAGER B VACANCIES

Tayside Fire and Rescue are offering an excellent, but challenging, opportunity for Group Managers who have the ambition and drive to continue the improvement in our performance in delivering effective services to the communities we protect.

You should be able to demonstrate leadership and enthusiasm and have a sound knowledge of, and commitment to, the variety of changes and challenges within the Fire and Rescue Service.

You will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  You will need to be a team player, able to motivate others, whilst supporting and actively promoting equality and diversity.

Applications are invited from competent Station Managers who can demonstrate continuous professional development (CPD) and substantive Group Managers seeking to transfer.

Group Managers are required to work a 78-hour flexible duty system.  The salary and terms and conditions of service are those detailed in the National Joint Council for Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services as adopted by Tayside Fire and Rescue. All Group Manager vacancies are interchangeable within Tayside Fire and Rescue.

Successful applicants will be required to provide on-call accommodation within an appropriate area of Tayside as approved by the Chief Fire Officer. As an essential car user, successful applicants will be eligible to join Tayside Fire and Rescue’s car leasing scheme.

Due to the sensitive nature of the duties that the postholder will be expected to undertake, a standard disclosure will be sought from Disclosure Scotland for the successful candidate.
