Mission

Tayside Fire and Rescue's mission is:

"To provide the highest standard of fire safety and emergency response services to the communities we serve."

This mission is supported by 4 aims which fall under the categories of Prevention, Intervention, People and Performance.

We aim to:

Prevention
Work with local communities to reduce risks to life, property and the environment from fire and other emergencies.

Intervention
Respond promptly and effectively to fires and other emergencies when they occur.

People
Ensure that services are delivered by a well equipped, skilled and highly motivated workforce which is able to work safely and whose composition reflects the diverse communities it serves.

Performance
Monitor performance to ensure continuous improvement and delivery of best value.

The above aims are supported by five departments:

Personnel Services - Incorporating Human Resources, Training and Development, Health and Safety and Occupational Health Sections.

Technical Services - Incorporating Property, Transport & Equipment, Information & Communications Technology and Supplies Sections.

Corporate Services - Incorporating Finance, Administration and Information & Performance Sections.

Community Safety  - Incorporating the Command and Control Centre, Community Fire Safety and Emergency Response (Wholetime, Retained and Volunteer Fire Stations).

Risk Management - Incorporating Legislative Fire Safety, Risk Management  (Integrated Risk Management) and Emergency Planning Sections.

Tayside Fire and Rescue's Mission Statement ‘Protecting the Community’ captures the ethos of the organisation and provide the focus for all the departmental aims.
