Pitlochry Fire Station (Retained)

Pitlochry Fire Station is situated on  Atholl Road (Main Street) directly behind the Police Station. The Station is staffed by personnel working the Retained Duty System. The staff consists of 1 Watch Manager, 2 Crew Managers and 9 Firefighters , crewing  1 Rescue Pump.  All personnel have full time jobs, as well as responding to firecalls, attending  training nights, maintainance nights and carrying out home fire safety visits in the surrounding community.

Pitlochry is located in the Vale of Atholl in the heart of Highland Perthshire with a population of approximately 3500. The town is renowned for  Pitlochry Festival Theatre, the Dam and Fishladder and its 2 Distilleries :Blair Athol distillery, the home of Bell's  Whiskey and Edradour which is Scotland's smallest working distillery.

Pitlochry  Fire Station cover a large geographical area, including  the main A9 trunk road from Kindallachan in the South, to Drumochter Summit in the north, at the county boundary with Highlands and Islands. The area is largely rural and includes the villages of Ballinluig, Blair Atholl and Calvine. Pitlochry's  appliance also assists neighbouring  Stations in Aberfeldy, Kinloch Rannoch and Kirkmichael.
