Alyth Fire Station (Retained)

Built in 1900 and modernised in 1970, Alyth Fire Station is located on Airlie Street to the South side of the town of Alyth.

The Fire Station has one front line appliance, a fully equipped Rescue Pump, and is staffed by personnel employed on the retained duty system.  The current establishment for the station is a Watch Manager, 2 x Crew Managers and 9 firefighters with the majority working and living in the community of Alyth.  The station personnel are the main asset and in addition to responding to emergencies they undertake a range of Community Safety activities that are primarily aimed at preventing deaths and injuries in fires.

The geographical area served by Alyth is both urban and rural.  The urban area covers the town of Alyth which contains a small sized shopping area, small sized residential areas and small sized industrial areas.  The rural area covered by the station includes a large farming community and small villages.  The population of Alyth is around two thousand four hundred.
