


Arbroath Fire Station (Wholetime/Retained)
Opened in 1959 Arbroath Fire station is situated just of the main High Street on Ponderlaw Street. It replaced the previous station which was sited at Gravesend, not far from the existing Police station and only approximately only ½ a mile from the current station.
The station has two front line appliances and a Foam Salvage Tender. The station is crewed 24 hours seven days a week by both a full time fire crew and a crew on the retained duty system. The station personnel are our main asset and in addition to responding to emergencies they undertake a range of Community Safety activities that are primarily aimed at preventing deaths and injuries in fires.
The geographical area served by Arbroath Fire Station is both urban and rural. The urban area covers the town of Arbroath which contains a medium sized shopping area ,large residential areas and a number of industrial areas throughout the town. There is a great deal of residential development ongoing in the station area further expanding the established estates and creating new ones. The rural area covered by the station includes a large farming community and numerous small villages.
