


Carnoustie Fire Station (Retained)
Opened 27 June 1961 by Douglas R Paton Esq M A Provost of the Burgh Carnoustie is situated just of the main street on Kinloch Street replacing the previous station in Camus Street (a wooden shed).
The station has one front line appliance, the station has a crew of twelve all on the retained duty system the majority working and living in the community of Carnoustie. The station personnel are our main asset and in addition to responding to emergencies they undertake a range of Community Safety activities that are aimed at preventing death and injury in fires.
The geographical area served by Carnoustie is both urban and rural. The urban area covers the town of Carnoustie which contains a small sized shopping area, medium sized residential areas currently expanding, medium sized industrial areas and also the world famous Championship golf course. The surrounding rural area covered by the station has a large farming community and small villages.
