Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 came into force on January 1st 2005. The Act aims to increase openness and accountability in the public sector by ensuring that people have a statutory right to access information held by Scottish public authorities. People will be able to see and question how such bodies function and how decisions are made.
The Act requires that each Scottish public authority produces a 'publication scheme' which sets out: the categories of information the authority publishes, the manner in which it is published and details of any charges for accessing the information.
Our strategy is to publish as much information as possible on this website. Publishing this Scheme will assist the public by making known the wide range of information available.
If you are having difficulty or cannot find the information you are looking for in the Publication Scheme, please contact our Administrative Co-ordinator.
All information requests should be made using the online form or in writing to the Administrative Co-ordinator.
The Freedom of Information Officer would welcome any comments you might wish to make about the publication scheme or the information covered by it.
For the majority of material in the scheme, the copyright is owned by Tayside Fire and Rescue and the material can be reproduced free of charge in any format or medium for research, private study or for internal circulation within an organisation. This is subject to the material being reproduced accurately and not being used in a misleading context. Where material is being republished or copied to others, the source of the material must be identified and our copyright acknowledged.
